Luella & June: Emerald City

Luella & June is a great blog that I recently stumbled upon. It immediately caught my eye because of their graphics and endless colors. However, one of their posts really grabbed my attention because I've had a similar obsession with the color emerald and was planning on doing a post myself. Since they beat me to the punch, I thought why not feature them instead!

TOMS and The Row Collaboration

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen combined their creative and fashion forward insight they use for their line, The Row in order to create a collaboration with TOMS.  Below are photos and a video from their shoe drop in Honduras.

Christian Siriano Spring 2012

Christian Siriano was definitely a fan favorite on Project Runway but I have to admit that I wasn't confident his collection would be up to par against other legendary designers during NYFW. However, I thought his Spring 2012 collection was stunning! His idea of glamorous included simple shapes like T-shirts and A-line skirts and dresses with dramatic hues with well balanced nudes. I look forward to seeing his line up close to examine the details!

Trend Report: Denim Button Up

So obsessed with chambray button ups right now, it's not even funny. You may ask why I am loving this once awful 90's inspired trend. I'll tell you why, it's because they're so versatile! You can slip them under a fitted blazer, belted around a loose dress or even wear then tucked into black skinnies. Not only that but I guarantee you could find one for a penny at your local vintage shop if you're willing to dig! In the meantime, I found one at Nordstrom that I can't wait to try out once the weather begins to cool down!

Faith vs Fear

NYFW Spring 2012: Alice & Olivia

This season of NYFW, I've watched designers such as Marchesa, Diane von Furstenburg, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors and more. Since then I have decided that Alice & Olivia stood out amongst the crowd! Alice & Olivia's Spring 2012 collection consists mostly of a gorgeous color palette, such as bright pastels like aqua and sherbet. Along with a fresh black and white palette, which kept their collection classic yet modern. They stayed consistent with their classic flared trouser using different colors and textures. They also created embellished A-line dresses with floral prints along with leather pants to keep the collection well balanced. Overall, I felt Alice & Olivia kept it's originality but played up their collection to stay youthful, flirty and modern!

Then I discovered several delicious looking cupcakes all made by mingmakescupcakes that are all definitely worthwhile to salivate over or even try baking them yourself one day! Enjoy!

Trend Report: Polka Dots

Another favorite fall trend of mine is polka dots! I love how playful a pop of polka dots can be! Add a blazer and heels and you're ready for a night out or tucked into tailored trousers and you're on your way to your 9-5!

The Button Up

The button up is a classic blouse inspired by mens wear that can be worn multiple ways and is this fall's top trend. I have numerous sheer and silky button ups that I wear tucked into dark denim or worn flowy with black leggings and flats. Depending upon which pieces from your wardrobe you choose to pair with a button up, these can be worn for day or night occasions.

White Out

Who says you can't wear white after labor day?

Casually Chic

Throwing on a pair of jeans, slouchy blouse and twisting your hair into a messy bun may seem sloppy but these girls can pull it off perfectly. That's why I love how effortless these looks are!
