One of my favorite blogs that I follow is the witty, Man Repeller. If you haven't checked her out before then do so! She hilariously shares her ideas of fashion that are consistently too fierce for men. Meanwhile, she pokes fun of herself and her style but is always on point for each trend. For example, take this Glamour feature that's all about distressed boyfriend jeans. You be the judge if it's man approved!
If you don't love a little leopard then get out. No, really. Leopard is to die for!! Unless of course you're wearing it as a skintight jumpsuit....not cute. However, if you're wearing leopard as accents in either a pair of heels or a belt or even a blouse, it can give you a rawwr from the crowd.
There is no doubt in my mind that sequins are a girl's best friend. It has to be one of my favorites because it's easy to wear for a girls night out or for a chic yet casual day while shopping.
I really like the idea of utilizing a laundry room to it's maximum and making it match the interior of a beautiful house. These laundry rooms prove that they have everything!
Several months ago I blogged about one of summer's best trends, neon and nudes, which can be seen here. Since then I've had fall on my mind and escaping this heat which lead me to the thought of camel and colors! Incorporating summer and fall while we're still in between is practical and trendy! So, find your fall camel items and use them with bright neon skirts, shoes and blouses before it's too late!
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened, 2 cups sugar, 2 eggs, 1 (15 oz.) container ricotta cheese (I used part-skim), 3 tbsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice, zest of one lemon
Glaze: 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 3 tbsp. lemon juice, zest of one lemon
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir and set aside. Beat the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes. Add the eggs, ricotta cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix to combine. Add the dry ingredients and mix on low speed. Spoon the dough onto the baking sheets (about 1 tablespoons per cookie). Bake for 12-15 minutes, until slightly golden at the edges. Remove from the oven and let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 20 minutes.
Glaze: Combine the powdered sugar, lemon juice and lemon zest. Whisk until smooth. Spoon a small amount of glaze onto each cookie and spread gently using the back of the spoon.
You have to love Rachel Bilson's simplicity and classic look. She always knows what looks best for her petite frame while consistently being on trend. She is without a doubt one of my style icons that I look to for inspiration.
Color blocking is trending everywhere lately! In a previous post, I shared my love for J Brand's mid rise red skinny jeans but this time I thought I'd share my recent obsession for anything cobalt blue. This pop of color will definitely get you noticed and easily be transitioned from summer to fall by pairing it with a black blouse and red lips.
The contrast of the dark beams and white walls is so beautiful! I love the idea of bringing a little bit of nature inside but in a big way that is always noticeable!
This 110 degree heat may be making me slightly loopy because I'm already thinking of upcoming fall trends! Thus far, I'm obsessed with floppy hats! I seriously can't get enough of them! Here's to floppy hats and wearing them sooner rather than later! (Hence, heat GO AWAY!)
